The U.S. will be experiencing the coldest weather it has faced in 25 years, according to the head meteorologist at AccuWeather.com.

“It’ll be like the great winters of the ‘60s and ‘70s,” said Joe Bastardi, said the company’s Chief Meteorologist.

The current cold temperatures across the eastern half of the U.S. have not been seen since 1985, according to the report.

While temperatures have been this low in 2002-03, it was limited to a smaller portion of the country than this year’s cold.
