Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, called it too surreal that President Obama has the group's songs on his iPod.

Martin, a 35-year-old singer-songwriter and frontman for Coldplay, said he at first thought Obama was not sincere.

I met Barack Obama and he said: 'I have your songs on my iPod.' But I thought: 'I bet he says that to ever pop star he meets, Martin told the Daily Express Tuesday. I can't get my head around the notion that the president would have any of my songs on his playlist. It's just too surreal.

Martin is married to American actress Gwyneth Paltrow and is a native of England, although the couple live in both New York and London.

Obama famously gave Queen Elizabeth an iPod when the president visited England in 2009.
