Larry Eustachy is expected to be named the next head coach at Colorado State, according to ESPN's Andy Katz.

Katz reports that a formal announcement will be made on Thursday to announce Eustachy's arrival.

This report comes after it was believed that former Oregon coach Ernie Kent would become the next head coach at Colorado State. CBS Sports reported that Kent had agreed to a deal in principle with the school, but that a senior administrator vetoed the deal.

After that individual shut down the deal, according to CBS Sports' Gary Parrish, the school turned its attention to Eustachy. The 56-year-old coach guided Southern Miss to the NCAA Tournament this past season in his eighth season there.

Eustachy gained fame in the early 2000s as the coach of a Marcus Fizer-led Iowa State program, including an Elite Eight run, but was forced to resign after pictures of him drinking with and kissing several young women surfaced. Eustachy admitted to an alcohol abuse program and went through rehab for his problem.
