U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday lawmakers were making great progress on a healthcare overhaul and there was no question there were enough House votes to pass the bill.

It takes some time, but we're going to do it right, Pelosi told reporters of the healthcare plan, which has become besieged by critics as the House and Senate prepare separate versions.

President Barack Obama will hold a prime-time news conference to push for the healthcare overhaul, which he hopes will drive down costs and extend healthcare coverage to most of the 46 million uninsured Americans.
