For the past two weeks Congressman Anthony Weiner's marriage has been the subject of public interest follwing an online scandal.

While his wife Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in North Africa this week for an official visit the friends of the couple say they're expecting their first child, sources confirm.

The New York Times broke the story, citing three sources close to the couple confirm the pregnancy has been a secret only close friends and family knew about.

Congressman Weiner admitted Monday to engaging in explicit conversations using social media with at least six women over the past three years. Weiner told reporters his wife was aware of said actions while they were engaged.

Huma, notably absent from the congressman's speech, returned to work Tuesday.
