Connie Britton is opening up to New Beauty and sharing her beauty secrets, along with her perspective on aging.

The 48-year-old “Nashville” star is featured on the cover of the magazine’s summer-fall issue, reported E!News, and the actress has never looked better.

“It's more about the wisdom for me. If you serve your spirit, all of a sudden at this age, life is less scary, less overwhelming. Maybe that's the whole secret to life. It's not that bad getting older; you can enjoy it," said Britton.

Britton also touched on Hollywood’s unrealistic expectations on beauty, saying that what people see on television, in movies and in magazines is “doctored and not real.” The actress’ advice for young women is to not give in to that pressure. "Find your own value. Know your body. Know what works for you. ... It has to be your life you are living. I try to carry that philosophy into every aspect of my life," she added.

In an article at the Los Angeles Times published June 12, the “American Horror Story” actress also said meditation has helped her center herself. “Meditation gets my mind outside of myself," she said. "I spent most of my 30s meditating for hours a day; it was a big priority. In my 40s, my life got very busy, so I meditate when I can.”

And for fans who have admired Britton for her lovely tresses, the actress finally revealed her surprisingly low-maintenance secret. "I can go for days without washing my hair, and people freak out about that. It gets better from the natural oils that make it shiny and make it do what I want it to do," she admitted.

Connie Britton is known not only for her roles in series like “Nashville,” “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story.” She is also an ambassador for the United Nations Development Program. Last month, Britton went on an official visit to Africa, reported All Africa, and witnessed the agency’s work.
