Consumer prices in China fell 1.2% from a year earlier in August compared with a prior drop by 1.8% in July, while it was forecasted to decline1.3%. Producer prices slipped 7.9% from a year earlier, from a previous decline by 8.2%, and forecasts referred to -7.8%.

As for the purchasing prices index it slipped 11.4% in August from the same period last year, compared with -11.7% back in July.
