National CPI in Japan declined 1.7% in December from a year ago following a decline by 1.9%, and it was anticipated to fall 1.8%. National CPI excluding food and energy dropped 1.2% in December from a year earlier compared with a previous decline by 1.0%, and it fell more than the forecasted -1.1%.
