Dennis Hopper hospitalized after flu symptoms

Dennis Hooper, an Oscar nominated actor, was hospitalized on Wednesday in New York City after he developed flu-like symptoms.

The report was confirmed by his publicist Sheila Feren.

Hopper was wearing an oxygen mask and had "numerous tubes visible" at the time he was admitted into the hospital, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Hopper appeared in "Apocalypse Now" and currently stars in the TV series "Crash."
