Architect Visit: Michaelis Boyd Associates in Oxfordshire

By Julie | 02 November 2009 @ 09:47 am EDT

Michaelis Boyd Associates, founded by Alex Michaelis and Tim Boyd, is perhaps best known as the architecture firm behind Babington House and David Cameron's eco house in Notting Hill. We like this Georgian manor house in Oxfordshire, which illustrates the firm's pared-down aesthetic. The architects added a simple, theater-style kitchen and dining area, using solid, chunky oak for shelving and worktops, giving the area an organic, traditional feel and echoing the extensive use of wood throughout the house. The stylish, understated interior design is by London-based Sarah Delaney Design. Photos via Michaelis Boyd Associates and Simon Brown Photography.
