U.S. actor Johnny Depp is 2009's "Sexiest Man Alive," according to People Magazine.

This is not the first time that Depp, 46, is given the title; he also won it in 2003. Only actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney have been named "Sexiest Man Alive" twice.

"Johnny Depp was someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He'll be sexy 10 years from now. He's someone who appeals to multiple generations of women," Kate Coney, senior editor at People magazine said Wednesday on CBS' "Early Show."

Depp has starred in movies such as "Edward Scissorhands," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Sweeney Todd," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and most recently he will appear in 2010's "Alicia in Wonderland," as the Mad Hatter.

Depp has two children with French model-singer Vanessa Paradis.
