Miley Cyrus ‘deeply saddened’ by the loss of driver

Singer Miley Cyrus on Friday afternoon issued a statement on her website about the death of bus driver William G. Douglas killed in the crash.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill 'Uncle Bill' Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed", read the statement on the Miley Cyrus website.

The 53-year-old driver from Austin Texas was driving one of the four buses heading for Greensboro, North Carolina where the singer is scheduled to perform Sunday.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Reports according to TMZ indicate that Douglas may have suffered a cardiac arrest at the time of the crash.
