"Twilight Saga: New Moon," the vampire romance expected to top $100 million on this weekend's box office, debuted Friday in the United States.
The film starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner is the sequel of Twilight. The movie tells the story of a student Bella Swan (Stewart) who falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen (Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob Black (Lautner).
Early reviews praise the director's faithfulness to the source text and say the film will please "twilighters." But overall, film reviews compiled in the Rottentomatoes site assign only 29 percent of positive reviews to the movie.

Michael O'Sullivan from the Washington Post said, "Despite melodrama that, at times, is enough to induce diabetes, there's enough wolf whistle in this sexy, scary romp to please anyone."
"All three lovers are so joyless, it's hard to imagine why any of them would want to spend eternity together," David Germain - Associated Press.
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon takes the tepid achievement of Twilight, guts it, and leaves it for undead," Roger Ebert - Chicago Star Tribune.
