Michael Jackson will be awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award on January 30, the Recording Academy said in a statement Thursday.
Other honorees are Leonard Cohen, Bobby Darin, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Loretta Lynn, André Previn, and Clark Terry, the Recording Academy said.
"This year's honorees are a prestigious group of diverse and prominent creators who have contributed some of the most distinguished and influential recordings," said Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow in a statement.
"Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy that has positively affected multiple generations, and will continue to influence generations to come," he continued.
The awarding ceremony will be held on Saturday January 30, 2010, a day ahead of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
