James Cameron: Why 'Avatar' release was delayed (VIDEO)

James Cameron, the director of Avatar spoke on why the release of the film was delayed.

Cameron first wrote the Avatar outline in 1995 and originally planned to shoot it after directing Titanic.

Cameron however turned his focus to documentary filmmaking and the co-development of the digital 3-D Fusion Camera System, which was used in his new fiction film.

Avatar was released on December 17 and has received 4 golden globe nominations.
