A Victorian cheese company has recalled some of its products due to fears over possible salmonella contamination.

The voluntary national recall by Montefiore Cheese is for its 400 grams and one-kilogram Mozzarella Fiorello.

The cheese products which are wrapped in plastic and sold in NSW, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia have expiry dates ending in mid-June.

Customers are alerted they can return the cheese to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

The cheese was sold in IGA, corner stores, Metcash, Oz Fresh, Delis, Independent Supermarkets and Food Service companies.

Montefiore Cheese is based out of Thomastown in northern Melbourne.
