Former “Young and the Restless” actor Corey Sligh was recovering in a Los Angeles hospital Sunday after he was run over while trying to stop an allegedly drunken driver in West Hollywood on Thanksgiving. Sligh indicated on social media he will be in rehab for the next few weeks after he reportedly suffered a number of injuries, including a broken arm. A selfie he posted to Instagram showed the actor in a neck brace.

Sligh, 27, a model and actor who played a bartender on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless," appeared to be in good spirits, joking on Instagram he finally “made the Hollywood Reporter.”

On Friday, Sligh said on the social media site he was struck by a drunken driver he was trying to stop while delivering a Thanksgiving meal to a friend.

Sligh said he was beaten by two men in the car after he told them to stop driving erratically in a Rite Aid parking lot in West Hollywood. Sligh’s girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, KCAL, Los Angeles, said the car almost hit two people in the lot.

“They were hitting curbs and Corey said, ‘Please slow down or we're going to call the cops,'” she told the television station. "The guy walked up to him like I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away.”

The occupants of the car crashed the vehicle near the parking lot, police told KCAL. They were arrested after a witness led police to their location.

Sligh said he was “so thankful no matter what to be here.” He said he would heal from his injuries “in the next few weeks with Rehab and family! Thanks for all the love and I'll keep y'all posted!”

Sligh is recovering from surgery in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, Gawker reported.
