Courtney Love believes she has found a lead to help locate Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which went missing on March 8, triggering an international search that is reportedly the largest in aviation history and has involved more than two dozen countries.

According to reports, Love used website called Tomnod to find clues about the plane and later shared a theory on her Facebook page with a ocean-view photo claiming that the missing plane had crashed into the sea. Tomnod, a global mapping site, has launched a crowdsourcing effort to help in the search for the missing airliner.

"I'm no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick," Love wrote on her Facebook page Monday. "Prayers go out to the families #MH370 and [it's] like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they 'last' tracked it.”

Love also posted the photo of her theory on her Twitter account.

The widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain told Daily Intelligencer that she was curious about the plane's whereabouts.

"Yeah I went to the satellite site and just uploaded tons and tons of pictures. I really doubt aliens took it. It's got to be somewhere. I'm a little obsessive," she admitted. "I saw an article asked people to help search on Tomnod.com so I decided to give it a shot," she explained.

Around 25 nations from around the world are contributing to the ongoing search of Flight MH370, which has now entered its second week, after officials reportedly said that the plane was deliberately steered off its decided course. Investigation has now shifted to include background checks on the flight's co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, and its captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, who reportedly had built a flight simulator at his home that authorities have since seized.

"I figured a plane would still be leaking some fuel so I searched for signs of an oil slick. I found one and there appeared to be an object nearby. I don't know if it is the plane or not, but I figured I'd do my part and bring some awareness to the site, for the sake of all the families involved."

"I hope they find the plane, I pray they're still alive, it's sad and my heart goes out to all those involved," Love told Daily Intelligencer. "It's the least I can do."
