After reports that the Dallas Cowboys seemed to pass on safety George Iloka, the club apparently is close to signing the veteran.

According to ESPN and NFL Network's insider Mike Garafolo, the Cowboys on Saturday have agreed to a one-year deal with Iloka. There were no reports about the terms of the deal.

The Dallas Morning News had reported that Iloka visited the Cowboys on Friday and left without a deal.

Iloka, who turns 29 on March 31, had 16 tackles in 16 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2018. He had previously spent six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Not only would Iloka represent the most seasoned safety on the roster, he is also listed at 6-foot-4, which makes him the tallest. Xavier Woods, 23, is listed at 5-foot-11.

The deal comes after the Cowboys on Tuesday signed veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb to a one-year deal worth $5 million.
