Criminal Minds
What new problems will Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) face in prison in “Criminal Minds”? CBS

“Criminal Minds” premiered a tragic episode last week in Season 12. Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) lost his only true friend in prison, a man named Louis, while the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) caught a serial killer with two distinct personalities – a case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Reid’s situation in prison is getting a lot worse. Hopefully, his storyline will be wrapped up in the Season 12 finale.

This week, the BAU will solve a very interesting case. According to the synopsis of Season 12, episode 18 on TVGuide, the profilers will be called to investigate an urban vampire in New York. This serial killer kidnaps his victims only at night and then holds them captive underground in the sewer system for days. Yikes!

The promo of the upcoming episode, titled “Hell’s Kitchen,” shows Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (A.J. Cook) and newbie Stephen Walker (Damon Gupton) successfully locating the unsub’s lair. However, nothing prepares them for what they are about to see. Walker glances upon the vampire’s latest victim who is being drained of her blood. “It’s a good day, isn’t it?” the unsub asks him.

Meanwhile, Reid is onto former FBI Agent Calvin Shaw (Harold Perrineau). He suspects that Calvin is the leader of the prison. He is the one who pulls the strings. He also thinks Calvin has a lot of friends in jail and they play his little game. Is Reid right or is he losing his mind after losing Louis? Let’s hope for Reid’s sake that it’s the former and not the latter.

Additionally, in other news, CBS released the season finale dates of multiple shows including “Criminal Minds.” The Season 12 finale, which will see Shemar Moore return as former profiler Derek Morgan, premieres on Wednesday, May 10 at 9 p.m.
