(Reuters) - Crude futures rose more than $1 on Tuesday in choppy trading as supportive retail sales data provided lift to oil and equities on Wall Street.

U.S. September crude was up $1.17 at $93.90 a barrel at 9:38 a.m. EDT, having traded from $92.56 and $93.92.
