The milestone is especially impressive for CyanogenMod as the team went commercial in September after raising $7 million to partner with Chinese manufacturer Oppo. The Oppo N1 is the first device to run CyanogenMod as its official software. Recently, the N1 received Google’s CTS and CDD approval, which will allow the device to run Google apps and access the Google Play Store without having to sideload the proper firmware.

Now CyanogenMod Inc., the team has its sights set on further funding, and hopes to snag partnerships with manufacturing heavyweights like Samsung and HTC. The team recently secured $23 million of Series B funding from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz and Chinese internet giant Tencent. With the money, CyanogenMod Inc. plans to expand its staff and make itself even more appealing to potential partners. The company of 25 employees will hire up to 60 new members within the next year. In addition, Peter Levine, of Andreessen Horowitz, will join Cyanogen Inc’s board of directors.

Among its expansion, CyanogenMod has also launched a YouTube channel. Currently, footage of the Oppo N1: CyanogenMod Edition is available.
