RTTNews - Tuesday, a report from the Czech National Bank said the current account recorded a deficit of CZK11.7 billion in May, in contrast to a surplus of CZK 9.8 billion in the preceding month. Economists expected a deficit of CZK 3.2 billion.

During the month, the surplus in the goods account decreased to CZK 13.8 billion from CZK 14.3 billion in April, while the services account surplus narrowed to CZK 6.47 billion from CZK6.52 billion.

At the same time, the deficit in the income account increased to CZK28.7 billion from CZK 15.8 billion, while the current transfers account showed a deficit of CZK 3.32 billion compared to a surplus of CZK 4.97 billion in the previous month.

Meanwhile, the surplus in the capital account narrowed to CZK 1.54 billion in May from CZK 3.4 billion in the previous month, while the financial account showed a surplus of CZK 4.8 billion, in contrast to a deficit of CZK 11.3 billion in April.
