Spain comfortably won, 2-0, over the Czech Republic to maintain its perfect record in Group I of Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Juan Mata scored early in the sixth minute with a calm finish to put the visitors in control before Xabi Alonso was at hand to tap in a David Silva cross to double their lead.

The Czech club's best chance fell to Milan Baros, who failed to make contact with a cross five minutes before the first half.

Twenty-one minutes from the end, the Czech team was reduced to 10 men after Thomas Hubschman saw red for a horrific challenge on Alonso.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech helped keep the scoreline from running into a cricket score.
