Tuesday, a report by the Czech Statistical Office said retail sales at constant prices, including sale of automotive fuel, fell 5.5% year-on-year in February, after rising 1% in the previous month.

At current prices, the retail sales were down 9.6%, after a 3.4% fall in January.

Excluding sale of automotive fuel, retail sales at constant prices dropped 5.2%, following a 0.9% rise in the previous month. At current prices, the sales were down 6.4% compared to a 0.1% rise in the previous month.

Month-on-month, retail sales dropped a seasonally adjusted 1.5% at constant prices in February.

Meanwhile, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles at current prices slipped an unadjusted 19.6% annually in February and fell 13% at constant prices. On a monthly basis, sales were down a seasonally adjusted 1.3%.
