RTTNews - Tuesday, the Czech statistical office reported an annual decline of 7.5% in retail trade in May with decreases in all surveyed trade product groups. Economists had expected only 1.5% fall.

Sales in retail trade including automotive segment slid by a seasonally adjusted 2.1% on a monthly basis and dropped 5.3% from the previous year.

The statistical office said seasonally adjusted sales in sale and repair of motor vehicle fell 5.6% on a monthly comparison and 11.4% annually. Meanwhile, retail sales including sale of automotive fuel dropped 0.7% from April.
