RTTNews - Monday, a report by the Czech Statistical Office said retail sales at constant prices dropped 2% year-on-year in April, after falling 1.1% in March. Economists expected a drop of 3%.

At current prices, retail sales were down 6.8% in April compared to a 6.2% fall in the preceding month.

Retail sales here includes wholesale and retail trade, sale of automotive fuel and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Compared to March, retail sales rose 1.4% in April.

Meanwhile, retail sales at current prices, excluding automotive fuel, dropped 0.5% annually in April after a 1% drop in the previous month. At constant prices, the sales were up 0.5% compared to a 0.1% growth in March.
