Japanese drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo said on Thursday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved its new pill for high blood pressure, which combines ingredients from two drugs already on the market.

The pill, which will be promoted in the U.S. with the help of U.S. drugmaker Forest Laboratories Inc, is called Azor and combines chemicals from Daiichi's Benicar and Pfizer Inc's Norvasc, the Japanese company said.
