Echelon, Duke Energy announce long term deal

Smart Meter producer Echelon Corp. saw its shares spike as much as 40 percent early Monday after announcing a long-term deal to supply smart meters to the third largest utility in the United States, Duke Energy Corp. Echelon said the deal could represent a revenue opportunity of $150 million.

North America to cooperate on emissions trading

Under the umbrella of the Threes Amigos summit in Mexico, the North American nations said they would build up capacity and infrastructure to facilitate future cooperation in greenhouse gas emissions trading systems to fight climate change.

U.S. Clean energy summit and green jobs

High profile politicians, clean energy industry leaders and members of the Obama administration gathered at The National Clean Energy Summit 2.0 in the University of Las Vegas on Monday to discuss about green jobs creation and the national economy. Among the attendants were President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
