Happy birthday, Dairy Queen! For those who heard that Dairy Queen is giving out free ice cream cones Monday, they heard right. To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Dairy Queen is providing customers with a free cone.

DQ has actively shared the promotion on Twitter. “Lunch needs dessert. Stop by a DQ store and let us hand you a FREE soft serve cone,” one tweet reads.

For those who travel to DQ to get their free cone, use the hashtag #ConeWithMe for a chance to appear on Dairy Queen’s official Twitter feed. The restaurant has shared pictures from some of its customers.

Because of the cold freebie, Dairy Queen quickly became a top-trending topic on Twitter Monday. Users were thrilled to find out they could get free food for a day, but there could be even more to be excited about. Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for Dairy Queen, said the free cone promotion could last more than just a day.

"We will surprise and delight our fans year-round with food and treat innovations that they have come to expect from us," Westrum said in a press release, according to the Huffington Post. "We’re extending the celebration beyond Free Cone Day because it’s about more than just one day."
