Backup point guard J.J. Barea confirmed he's dating Zuleyka Rivera, the 2006 Miss Universe.

Both Barea and Rivera are Puerto Rican, and have been dating for six months. Barea said he initially contacted her by text message.

Puerto Rican media learned about the relationship via Twitter, where Rivera had been posting messages on Barea's page.

The couple were recently seen together at Jason Kidd's Charity Casino Night.

The couple plan on spending a vacation together this summer.
