The synopsis for the finale reveals that Abby Lee Miller’s elite junior team will do their best to bring Abby home several first-place wins, but their quest for a clean sweep at their first West Coast nationals may not go as planned. "The girls give their all to make their leader proud, but the tension spirals out of control, leading to a chaotic ending unlike any Nationals before," Lifetime’s episode summary teases.

“The pressure is on… I’m opening [a studio] in LA and if these girls choke, I’m not going to make it. I am scared to death,” Abby says in the teaser. And it looks like Abby’s desire to see her students perform well may result in a few dramatic reactions from her team.

Despite being Abby’s No. 1 student and a longtime shoe-in for a spot in the national solo competition, Maddie Ziegler is shown crying in the promo. The finale teaser opens with a shot of Maddie, 12, sporting red eyes and wiping away tears while practicing inside Abby’s West Coast studio. In a voiceover Abby laments that Season 5 has been a rough season for her girls.

The promo goes on to show Abby visibly upset at nationals, even ordering her students to leave the stage during the awards ceremony. “You should all demand your money back because this is a joke,” Abby tells the dance moms.
