After losing to another studio in episode 3 and with only one week to go until the ALDC’s trip to Los Angeles, it looks like Abby Lee Miller will be out for blood in next Tuesday’s installment of "Dance Moms." And with a new dancer on the team, JoJo Siwa, it appears one of Abby's long-standing members may be on the chopping block.

In a promo for Season 5, episode 4, “Bye Bye Pittsburgh,” Abby teases the idea of having JoJo, 11, replace ALDC member Nia Frazier, 13, in the competition group routine after she realizes her girls will be competing in the teen division. Amid her efforts to lower their team’s overall average by removing Nia, thereby placing the girls in the junior division, mom Holly Frazier makes her upset known.

“JoJo, would you really want Nia not to dance at all today?” Holly questions the young performer, calling Abby’s plans “ludicrous."

“What’s more important, Nia’s feelings or the team winning?” JoJo’s mom, Jessalynn, responds.

And it’s not just the ALDC newcomer who is in favor of Abby’s plans. Dance mom Jill Vertes also expresses her desire to do whatever is necessary to help the team and her daughter, Kendall Vertes, 12, secure a win. “We are competing in the teen group, we cannot leave Pittsburgh without a win,” Jill says in the promo. “A child never has to dance older than they are.”

Unfortunately for some of the ALDC girls, it’s not just the competition that creates drama. After Abby’s go-to student Maddie Ziegler, 12, lands another gig in Hollywood — she is best known for her starring roles in the Sia music videos “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” — two of the moms will “vow to take matters into their own hands,” the synopsis teases. So which moms will be going behind Abby’s back? Despite previously going head-to-head, Holly and Jill will reportedly team up to make sure their daughters are not “forgotten" by the infamous coach.

Competition results

So how did the ALDC fare onstage? Did Nia get to dance with her team? According to one “Dance Moms” spoiler site, Abby apparently had a chance of heart and allowed Nia to compete at the World-Class Talent Experience in Woodbridge, Virginia, Nov. 1. The group, however, didn't manage to bring home a first-place win. Their lyrical piece, “Frozen Together,” placed second in the teen division and second overall. (Check out a sneak peek of the number here!)

Despite Abby labeling Maddie as her favorite student, she didn’t fare too well as the competition either. The award-winning dancer only placed first in the teen category and second overall for her lyrical solo “She’s History.” Both Kendall and JoJo, who competed jazz solos in the teen and junior categories, respectively, took home third-place wins and did not place in the overalls.

“Dance Moms” Season 5, episode 4 airs Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
