Dancing with the Stars season 18 2014
What celebrities turned down the chance at "Dancing with the Stars"? Dancing with the Stars

Looks like not everyone wants to be a dancing queen! After “Dancing with the Stars” revealed the 12 celebrities who would be participating on the 2014 season, fans started speculating about what other red carpet stars ABC had approached to appear on the competition. And from what US Weekly revealed, the names of the celebs who turned down a chance of winning the Mirrorball trophy were pretty big

Austin Mahone, the pop-singing teen sensation, reportedly said “no” to shaking his rump on stage due to his conflicting schedule. Bummer. He would have made one adorable “DWTS” contestant! An insider hinted that Martha Stewart, Caroline Rhea and Heather Morris, the “Glee” actress who formerly danced backup for Beyoncé, also turned their cheeks at the opportunity of dancing on ABC. Additionally, country singers Clint Black and Travis Tritt were approached to bust a few moves on “Dancing with the Stars” but they too denied the request.

Because these celebrities opted out of “DWTS,” other personalities were able to take their spots—like “Real Housewives” star NeNe Leaks. The vivacious vixen is no strange when it comes to reality TV, which is why we think the sassy celeb will thrive on the ABC competition. But Leakes didn’t just lace up her dancing shoes for the win, she did it to push herself into a healthier lifestyle.

"A few months ago I got really sick. So I thought this would be a great way for me to get in shape -- I want to lose 20 pounds," said NeNe Leakes, who'll team up with Tony Dovolani on “DWTS.” "So we'll see if Tony can get 20 pounds off of me. I hate the gym, so this is something totally different for me, to shake my hips."

Leaks won’t be the only actress getting loose on stage. The “Glee” actress will also be joined by Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Drew Carey and Billy Dee Williams. The Season 18 lineup also includes James Maslow, Sean Avery, Amy Purdy, Charlie White, Meryl Davis, Cody Simpson and Diana Nyad.
