Looks like Mona Vanderwaal is back from the dead! “Pretty Little Liars” star Janel Parrish will be trading in Rosewood drama for a pair of dancing shoes when the actress appears during the 2014 season of “Dancing with the Stars,” E News reported. Although ABC didn’t confirm the exciting casting rumor, sources told the site the “PLL” star will be shaking it on the ballroom floor when Season 19 makes its debut Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. EDT.
This comes as surprising news to any “PLL” fan who happened to catch the Season 5 summer finale of the hit ABC mystery series Tuesday. During Episode 12, viewers watched as Mona and the Liars worked together to bring down A once and for all. But it was the show’s villain, who just so happened to be donning blond hair and a black hoodie, who ended up getting the last laugh.
When the Liars and Ezra Fitz made their way to Mona’s house, they saw her home was torn apart and covered in blood.
“Mona Vanderwaal was murdered,” Gabriel Holbrook later said, confirming the homicide. Viewers watched as A stuffed Mona’s body into the trunk of her car with a baby Jesus nativity doll in the final scene. Creepy.
“Yes, its true. Mona is dead but not GONE from Rosewood,” Parrish tweeted Tuesday. “I still exist in flashbacks!” And, apparently, on the ballroom dance floor of “DWTS.”
The official “DWTS” casting announcement for Season 19 will be made on “Good Morning America” Sept. 4. Thus far, Antonio Sabato Jr. and Olympian Lolo Jones have been rumored to appear as celebrity dancers during the next installment of the reality-television series competition.
