Where, oh where, is Tamar Braxton? When Week 9 of “Dancing With the Stars” began, the show’s host, Tom Bergeron, revealed why Val Chmerkovskiy’s partner was missing from the ballroom. “Tamar was taken to the emergency room during dress rehearsals,” Tom explained, noting that because “DWTS” is a live show more information regarding the Season 21 competitor’s health would be disclosed as the installment continued. “She might return to dance live.”

However, Tamar, who was sick with pneumonia, didn’t make it to the dance floor in time to perform her Contemporary routine, forcing the judges to critique her dress rehearsal tape. But before Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli analyzed Tamar’s practice performance, Val explained to audiences how different the energy is during a live performance compared to a rehearsal.

“She came on the lot 15 minutes before we shot [the rehearsal performance], sick with pneumonia,” Val divulged before the tape rolled.

“[This is] very difficult because we can only comment and judge on what we saw not what it could have been,” Carrie Ann said, adding that the dance had the potential to be amazing if not for the mistakes.

Julianne agreed with her co-host, noting that while the concept was great, it wasn’t executed properly.

“It’s frustrating,” Val said amid the critiques, telling Tom that “it doesn’t matter” what the judges has to say.

“I love how protective you are of your partners,” Tom responded.

A few moments later, Tom revealed that Tamar was on her way from the hospital to perform her couple routine alongside Sharna Burgess and Nick Carter.

"First of all … what the hell are you thinking?” Tom said to the run down contestant after she performed the rumba to the Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” “I’m amazed you’re here.” (And you weren't alone, Tom!)

The "DWTS" host then revealed that if Tamar didn’t perform the team-up dance, which Bruno described as “a psychedelic dream,” then she would have been forced to withdraw from the competition like Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Tony Dovolani.

But thankfully Tamar did return because as it turned out, she was one of the celebrity contestants saved from getting eliminated.

“Tamar and Val … you’re safe,” Tom said, revealing the exciting news during the Week 9 elimination.
