Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough are taking things to the next level. According to the “Dancing With the Stars” pro, the fan favorite couple will face a daunting, new challenge come Week 9 of the hit ABC series -- one that will leave them dancing in the dark.

During Hough’s weekly blog post for TV Guide, the pro divulged that he and his Season 21 partner will give the judges something to gush over when Bindi dances blindfolded during their Viennese waltz. (The performance will be sound tracked to Alexander Jean’s “Roses and Violets.”)

“I don't mean those blindfolds where you can still see a little out of them. She's gonna be completely blindfolded and won't be able to see a thing,” Derek revealed. “I think it'll be cool. I'm very excited about it.”

So, what’s the reasoning behind Derek and Bindi’s bold -- or should we say blind -- move? Well, during Week 8 of “DWTS,” judge Julianne Hough confessed that while she watches the ever-so-elegant Bindi perform, she’s constantly “trying to find something wrong” with the routine.

"I can't just keep giving her 10s," Julianne said to her brother, to which he agreed was fair.

“[I’m] like, ‘OK, they're gonna be a little more picky with Bindi.’ But that's also a good thing because it means she's doing well and they hold her to a high standard,” he said. “It's not ideal, but it’s also not a bad thing.”

By blindfolding Bindi, Derek will give the judges a reason to hold up their number 10 paddles on Monday night -- that is, if the two can manage to pull off their blindingly brave routine!

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
