It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, that’s right. We’re talking about the time of season when our favorite red carpet stars take a break from their busy lives to partake in the foot-tapping ABC series “Dancing With the Stars.” So, which celebs will be slipping into a pair of ballroom shoes when the reality competition returns with Season 21 this fall? Well, the official roster for the impending installment will be released in just a few days.
The final celebrity roster of “DWTS” will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 2, on “Good Morning America.” And, as it turns out, that won’t be the only “DWTS”-related news discussed on the morning show. In addition to unveiling which celebrities will be attempting to win the coveted Mirror Ball trophy, ABC dished that fans will also learn which contestants will be paired with the show’s professional dancers.
On Aug. 19, only nine of the show’s pro dancers confirmed that they would be shaking it out during Season 21 of the ABC series. Thus far, Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Allison Holker, Derek Hough and Peta Murgatroyd have all verified that they’ll be partaking in the upcoming installment, along with fan favorite Karina Smirnoff who sat out during Season 20 of the dance series.

“I was a little nervous about not dancing on the show at all last season,” she said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I had other things to do in my life, but not going back to the show felt like trying to see if I can walk on my own two feet! I’ve had obvious moments when I missed it.”
The dancer also divulged that she’s anxious to see who her Season 21 celebrity partner will be.
“I’m excited and a little nervous,” she said, adding that she’s been trying to guess what Hollywood hunk she’ll be busting moves with when the show premieres Monday, Sept. 14. “Normally I can at least narrow it down a little bit, like whether it will be an athlete or an actor, but I have no idea.”
Although the entire Season 21 roster will be announced on Wednesday, some cast members were revealed to audiences early. “Backstreet Boys” singer Nick Carter, music icon Chaka Khan, Triple Crown winner Victor Espinoza, Vine star Hayes Grier, animal activist Bindi Iwin and the husband-and-wife duo Alexa and Carlos PenaVega will all compete on the forthcoming season of “DWTS.”
“Dancing With the Stars” will air its Season 21 premiere on Monday, Sept. 14, on ABC.
