Wanya Morris came out with guns blazing during his Week 8 routine. But unfortunately for the Season 22 “Dancing With the Stars” contestant, his Wild West-inspired jive took a terrible turn when he slipped on his partner’s handkerchief in the middle of their performance.

After the two completed their dance, with “Can You Do This” by Aloe Blacc as their soundtrack, Lindsay Arnold broke down in tears, telling co-host Tom Bergeron it was her fault Wanya took a tumble.

“I just feel terrible. That [was] my bandana that tripped him,” she said with teary eyes.

But judge Carrie Ann Inaba told the professional dancer it wasn’t her fault the routine went south. “It was rough — we all saw that, [but] it was more than just the bandana,” she said, adding that if Team Yayzee does make it to the semifinals, she wants to see Wanya get out of his comfort zone and push himself to “the edge.”

In contrast, Len Goodman was quite impressed with the number. The longtime judge gushed, saying he loves how Wanya puts his own unique spin on every routine he performs. “I was so enjoying watching that. It was a great number. It just is what it is,” he told the dancing duo.

Wanya expressed a similar statement when he spoke to co-host Erin Andrews after the performance. He addressed the dance floor mishap, noting there was nothing wrong with the choreography — it was just a freak occurrence.

Despite Wanya’s reassurance, Lindsay couldn’t help but take the mistake to heart.

“I’m just so proud of him,” she said, holding back tears. “I just want the best for him. He deserves it more than anyone I know.”

Ultimately, Wanya and Lindsay earned a 25 out of 30 for their routine.

“Dancing With the Stars” airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT.
