‘Dancing With The Stars’ Couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd Reveal Baby Shai Health Scare

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are basking in the glory of being new parents. Not every moment has been blissful, though.

In a recent interview with ET Online, Maks revealed that he and Peta rushed baby Shai to the hospital in his first week. Luckily, the scare was minor. The “Dancing With the Stars” pro shared with the publication that Shai had a fever, which shook her and Peta as first-time parents.

“We were so, like, not prepared for the protocol [and] procedure that happened at the emergency rooms with infants that small,” he said of the experience. “Nobody really ever told us anything about that. It was a big shock to the mind and to the heart.”

Shai is healthy and happy nowadays. He recently appeared alongside Peta in the “DWTS” studio. Shai helped to announce the team name Peta and partner Nick Viall have chosen for Season 24.

In addition to focusing on the upcoming season of “DWTS,” Maks and Peta are busy planning a wedding. During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” the “DWTS” couple revealed plans to wed this summer.

“We’re wondering how to get him [Shai] down the aisle,” Peta said (via People).
