From Cher's proud tears to Ricki Lake's dark performance to the Psycho theme song, Monday's episode of Dancing with the Stars was full of suspense and Hollywood glamour.

The remaining nine stars and their partners left everything on the dance floor, performing to famous movie scores like Toy Story (Hope Solo), Superman (Rob Kardashian) and Pink Panther (J.R. Martinez).

Cher was on hand to support son Chaz Bono, who performed the paso doble with partner Lacey Schwimmer to the Rocky theme song.

Fittingly, Bono finished the performance with a run up the stairs.

In the true spirit of Rocky, no matter how many knocks you take, you keep coming back, you keep fighting, and you keep getting stronger, judge Bruno Tonioli told the author and activist.

Watching proud from the audience, Cher couldn't hold back her tears as she gave her son a standing ovation.

OMG! I WAS CRYING! WASNT EXPECTING 2 B SO NERVOUS ! BROKE MY BRACELET CLAPPING! IM SO PROUD!! CHAZ WAS GREAT! LOVED DAVID ARQUETTE 2nd she wrote on Twitter following the show.

Sitting beside the 65-year-old diva was Coco Arquette, the daughter of David Arquette and Courtney Cox.

The older Arquette sported a plunging V-neck shirt as he delivered an entertaining paso doble with partner Kym Johnson to the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme, complete with a flying entrance and a whip.

Look at me David. I love the way you crack your whip . . . like an action hero, tight muscles and tight pants, ready to take us on a wild ride, Tonioli said, after an extended cheer from the audience.

Nancy Grace, who showed a little too much skin two weeks ago, covered up in a black, gold and red number for her Flash Gordon dance with partner Tristan MacManus.

Your dancing is competent but I can't get excited because it's not exciting. No real performance, lacked expression. It was OK but I can't get excited about it, said judge Len Goodman, as Grace's young children looked on.

Leading the stars on Monday night was crowd favorite Ricki Lake, as she performed the tango with partner Derek Hough to the Psycho theme song.

The thrill of the chase, the buildup of tension, the chilling ending. It really was an immaculate tribute to the master of suspense. And you two are the masters of the tango, said Tonioli.

Brilliance in the ballroom, added Carrie Ann Inaba from the judging panel.

Lake and Hough received the season's first 10s, topping the leaderboard with a score of 29.

The results show airs on ABC on Tuesday, featuring special appearances by Susan Boyle and Dancing alum Julianne Hough.
