We’re just one episode into Season 24 of “Dancing With the Stars” and rumors are already swirling. The bulk of the buzz centers on the off-screen relationship between partners Sharna Burgess and Bonner Bolton.

The pair hit the ABC ballroom for a country cha cha in Week 1, wowing with their chemistry. The spark between them was so intense, it left “DWTS” fans wondering if there was more to Team Denim and Diamonds. Sharna, was quick to shut down romance rumors, telling Us Weekly she and Bonner have undeniable chemistry but nothing more.

“Oh gosh,” she said. “I am a professional! No, no, we have a great chemistry and we have a lot of fun but first and foremost we’re just trying to do a great job in this competition. I want to stay in it to tell his story, I want everyone to get to know him and I want to take this man to the final. And that is our priority! I think everyone’s making a big deal about our obvious chemistry.”

Bonner, who has complimented Sharna’s beauty more than once, echoed that sentiment. He told reporters that his “DWTS” partner was working him hard. Both remain focused on the competition before anything else.

“Everyone should know she’s 100 percent just as professional as she obviously is beautiful and a great dance teacher, and she’s pushing me hard and I’ve been working hard and I just want to make her proud on the dance floor,” he clarified.

Sharna and Bonner’s chemistry alone won’t be enough to keep them in the competition, however. The pair’s premiere routine blew the judges away with it’s sex appeal, but their score could have been higher. Their first dance received only 22 out of 40 possible points.

Team Denim and Diamonds’ low score left them seated two points ahead of Kym Herjavec and Mr. T. Before the competition kicked off, Bonner said he was looking forward to sharing the ballroom with this duo, though they’re dangerously close to elimination heading into Week 2.
