Hell’s Kitchen has plenty of new residents. The first “Marvel’s Daredevil” Season 2 trailer focused on the Punisher’s (Jon Bernthal) arrival, but the second focuses on Elektra (Elodie Yung), Matt’s (Charlie Cox) ex-girlfriend on the Netflix drama. The new trailer picks up right where the first leaves off, with Elektra in Matt’s apartment.

“I need your help, Matthew,” Elektra says. “You’re the only person I can trust.”

“Oh sweetheart, you don’t break into my house and then talk to me about trust,” Matt tells her. He clearly isn’t thrilled to confront his ex.

It doesn’t seem like Matt will keep his Daredevil identity secret for long. Elektra tells him that the Yakuza never left. They only went into hiding, and she needs his help because he’s the best fighter she knows. He has to protect Hell’s Kitchen from the Yakuza, so teaming up with the assassin might be his only option. “If we do this, no one dies,” he demands.

The two team up to take out bad guys, but it looks like their relationship isn’t just business. There are a couple of quick cuts to love scenes in there too. Are they flashbacks to Matt’s romance with Elektra or will that spark be rekindled?

He might grow apart from the ones he loves while getting closer to Elektra. Claire (Rosario Dawson) tells Matt that this isn’t his city, while Foggy (Elden Henson) worries that Matt doesn’t care enough about his own life.

As previously reported, Elektra isn’t the best influence on the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. “Matt’s a deeply moral complicated guy and she’s just the best bad girlfriend you can possibly have,” executive producer Doug Petrie told Entertainment Weekly in December. “She does everything wrong and attractive, she’s his id, the wild side. Matt is always taming his wild side. Elektra just lets it out. He’s both repulsed and deeply drawn to that.”

“Marvel’s Daredevil” Season 2 premieres Friday, March 18 on Netflix.
