Batmobile tumbler vehicles were spotted in Pittsburgh over the weekend, on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises".

In a series of new videos provided by the folks at MovieWeb, three Batmobiles are seen wheeling around in broad daylight alongside regular parked cars and picture-taking citizens. The Batmobiles were used to film scenes at Carnegie Mellon campus in Pittsburgh, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There has been much hype surrounding "The Dark Knight Rises" since the film's first trailer was released on July 19. Images of a fight scene between Batman and archnemesis Bane were posted by SlashFilm on Monday morning, while The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette documented how the film crew transformed a street into a snowy Gotham City.

"The Dark Knight Rises," the third and final installment of the new Batman film series, stars Christian Bale as the caped crusader, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as the villain Bane.

Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman all return to reprise their roles from the previous two films, while Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Liam Neeson complete the star-studded cast.

Directed by Chrstopher Nolan, "The Dark Knight Rises" opens in theaters on July 20, 2012.
