The much-awaited official trailer of the Dark Knight Rises has finally been released on the Web, making fans go wild.

The short clips disclose a legendary journey of Batman's fight with his rival, such as Bane, Catwoman etc. At the beginning of the high definition video trailer, the text appears Every Hero Has A Journey followed by a voice in the background: If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, then you become something else entirely, a legend, Mr. Wayne, a legend. The trailer also shows the text Every Journey Has An End.

The trailer (click here) shows various video clips: one shows the Gotham Police Commissioner James Gordon, who is the in bad shape, lying on a hospital bed and saying the Batman has to come back and he must fight with the villain. The scene of dialogue between Gordon and Bruce Wayne and the fighting scene are among the video clips included in the trailer.

The Dark Knight Rises, which boasts of an all-star cast, is the third and final installment of the epic Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. The film is scheduled for release in the United States and Canada on July 20, 2012, by Warner Bros.

In the Dark Knight Rises, Batman (Christian Bale, who also plays as Bruce Wayne) faces off with a formidable villain called Bane (acted by Tom Hardy). Though less popular than other villains like The Joker and The Penguin, Bane is considered as one of Batman's deadliest and most powerful foes. Bane has a superhuman strength, which is matched by his superior IQ. Bane is an expert strategist, tactician and a skilled fighter. He can speak six different languages, including two archaic dead languages, and is one of the few Batman villains who is able to deduce Batman's secret identity (Bruce Wayne) within a year.

However, Batman is not alone. Assisting him in his crime-fighting activities are his trusted butler and adviser Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine), Gotham Police Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman), Lucius Fox, an inventor who supplies Batman's equipment needs and one of the few who knows Batman's secret identity (Morgan Freeman) and his frenemy Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).
