Dread-head David Diamante has been chosen as the voice of the New Jersey Nets. Diamante is best known as the baritone voice that's often used as an alternative to Michael Buffer at high-profile boxing matches on HBO and ESPN. The fifth-generation Brooklynite decided to audition for the Nets announcer in September. Last week, he got the job.

When he's away from announcing, Diamante is smoking cigars and running his Brooklyn cigar lounge, called Diamante's Brooklyn Cigar Lounge in Fort Greene. According to the New York Times profile of Diamante, the senior vice president for event marketing for the Nets said, He really stood out, and that The anticipation of who we're going to be in Brooklyn is so high, we only have one chance to do it right. Apparently, Diamante was the only right choice.
