Day of Infamy
“Day of Infamy” is now up available on Steam. New World Interactive

“Insurgency” developer New World Interactive’s new World War 2-themed video game “Day of Infamy” is finally here. The game just went live on Steam, and it is getting a lot of very positive reviews.

For players who are looking for an action-packed multiplayer game with tactical close-quarters WWII combat, “Day of Infamy” is a good choice. Set in the battlegrounds of Southern and Western Europe amid the Second World War, the game offers a highly strategic experience that tests players’ team-play skills. Its cooperative gameplay features three distinct modes that pit players against challenging AI enemy troops.

The main objective of players in “Day of Infamy” is to capture areas, but they are also tasked to steal enemy intelligence, assassinate officers, destroy anti-aircraft guns and even fuel dumps and radio communication centers. The game features both small-scale operations and large-scale battles, so there’s enough gameplay for long hours.

Ahead of its release date, New World Interactive released a big patch that included new content and major UI tweaks. However, the independent video game company may have noticed some issues with the March 22nd patch that it launched a pre-release update before the game went live online.

The pre-release update comes with updated content; gameplay, co-op and visual improvements; bug fixes, map balance and certain tweaks as well as modding changes. Some of the very noticeable changes that the new update brings include the switch from “Join Faction” to “Join Army” on the scoreboard, the rearranged buttons on the Kit UI and the updated playcard styling. The official description of “Day of Infamy” reads: “‘Day of Infamy’ takes you to the battlegrounds of Southern and Western Europe during World War II. There are 10 maps, ranging from war-torn cities to farm villages, fortified beachheads and snow-covered forests. Whether you are fighting for the U.S. Army, Commonwealth Forces or the German Wehrmacht, there is a vast arsenal of over 70 historical weapons and attachments.”

“Day of Infamy” is now available on Steam and the Humble Store for $20.
