Hope and Ciara on "Days of Our Lives"
Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) says her goodbyes to Salem on the May 26, 2017 episode of “Days of Our Lives.” NBC

Life in Salem was hard enough as the daughter of the legendary Bo and Hope Brady. But after a string of betrayals from the people she considered to be her closest friends, Ciara will decide she’s finally had enough and will pack up to leave Salem once and for all on the Friday, May 26 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Ciara’s (Vivian Jovanni) life in Salem has been difficult enough because her parents were Bo and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), and any of their powerful enemies on the NBC soap knew that the way to get to them was through their children. That put an unfair target on Ciara’s back multiple times in her life. However, that she managed to survive, but the string of endless betrayals from her fellow teens, all people she considered friends, has finally pushed her over the edge and made her decide that Salem isn’t the place she wants to be any longer.

Though she has mostly put it behind her, Ciara is still somewhat traumatized from the betrayal that she felt when Chase raped her last year. That has made her less likely to be trusting of men, with the exception being best friend Theo (Kyler Pettis), whom she believed would always look out for her. She finally admitted to him in a letter that she was in love with him, but he never seemed to respond to it, so she began looking for love on a dating app.

Theo, who was dating Claire (Olivia Keegan) at the time, decided to intervene on her dating life by trying to set her up with someone who made her happy. He found Wyatt (Scott Shilstone), whom he coached on how to be the perfect guy for Ciara, but when he realized the other guy was using his friend, he exposed him as a fraud. Now, Ciara is heartbroken again, not just because Wyatt wasn’t the guy she thought he was, but because she feels betrayed by Theo, who brought him into her life.

However, the final betrayal comes from Claire herself, who is actually Ciara’s niece. Jealous of the bond that Ciara and Theo share, and fiercely protective of her relationship, Claire made sure that Theo and Ciara could never wind up together by intercepting Ciara’s letter to Theo and destroying it. Now, with all this betrayal swimming around in her head, Ciara will decide that she can’t be around all of her friends any longer.

With that, she will pack up and prepare to leave town, in an effort to meet up with her brother, Shawn, and just get away for a while. But Ciara will know that it’s the right move for her to make, because at least for right now, Salem holds too much pain for her, and she needs an escape.
