Debswana, a joint venture between the Botswana government and De Beers, said on Friday it would produce 27 million carats of diamonds this year, up about 20 percent from 2010 output of 22.2 million.

Next year we should increase by another 20 percent to reach full production at around 30 million, De Beers executive director Stephen Lussier said.
