T-Mobile’s new tablet Dell Streak 7 beginning from February 2 will be available for $200 from February 2 with a price tag of $200, after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract. Without contract, the tablet will retail at $450.
The new tablet from Dell can connect to T-Mobile’s HSPA+4G network that surely is going to give stiff competition to Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 4G LTE tablet.
Dell Streak 7 4G tablet features a 7-inch 480 x 800 capacitive display compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 7-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive display. And with a battery of 2780mAh battery the new tablet lasts just 3.26 hours compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 4000mAh cell which lasts close to 6.09 hours.
Both the tablets has the Android 2.2 OS version but the odds are against Streak 7 as it packs dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz processor compared to Galaxy Tabs Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor which gives 1.2 GHz speed.
Dell Streak 7 has a front facing camera of 1.3-megapixel and a 5-megapixel rear camera similar to Samsung Galaxy Tab. And both the tablets can record 720p video.
And the multimedia feature included in Dell Streak 7 are music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR, MIDI and video playback support for MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV, 3GP. The Galaxy Tab has music player support for MP3, AAC, FLAC, WMA, WAV, AMR, OGG, MIDI and comes with video playback support for MPEG4, H.264, DivX, XviD.
Built-in support for Facebook, YouTube (upload), Flickr and Twitter is available in Streak 7 whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab has built-in support for Facebook only.
And Streak has 16 GB of internal memory support compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G which has only 2 GB internal memory, but both tablets memory can be expanded using microSD. Also both the tablets feature Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 512 MB RAM and 3.5 mm audio jack. Streak weighs close to 450 g compare to Samsung Galaxy Tabs which weighs 380 g.
T-Mobile’s Dell Streak 7 4G tablet is expected to run with 21 Mbps speed but there is no word on the speed of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G tablet.
